VCC Camp '09!

Hahaha. Yeah. Camp was great. Awesomefying too probably.

Well. I'll skip to sessions. Session 1 was about selection, that we were selected, or chosen by God to be in His kingdom right now. Ps. Bernard Hull, the speaker from the U.K., used a lot of "S" words this session. Hmmm, can't be bothered to dig up the verses right now. An important point, Ep 4:30.

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

The message over the sessions revolved around Ephesians 4, so go scout around there. Haha. Let's see. Words highlighted by Mr. preacher. Spiritual selection of the Son, sealed by the Spirit. A few more I can't recall. Gah. Never mind. I'll go rummage through someone's notes

Session 2. Growing. Message was about how to grow. And some pointers for the Church. Hmmm. One description example or whatever you call it was, like a fig tree.

[Caution! Pretty long story]

During a certain dry season, a person's toilet water/whatever wasn't flowing out to the sewage(ugh, true story btw). So, the Pastor had a look at the situation, and noticed a fig tree in the neighbour's back yard. He immediately suspected that the fig tree, which has powerful water-sensing instincts, and pretty long roots too, might have detected a tiny leak in the person's drainage pipe, and sent it's roots far and wide to the source of water, all because it was desperate. True enough, that was the case, and the Pastor managed to uproot the fig tree and fix everything, not alone of course. With some help.

Therefore, we should be like the fig tree, searching far and wide for God. And yea, a note of my own. The fig tree hit a real jackpot, albeit during the dry season. Plentiful sewage, water's all the same to it, no? Breakthrough, wasn't it. Yea, breakthrough comes when we need breakthrough. Haha. Anyway, words highlighted during this session. Grow, Gifts, Grace, God, Good. And a few more! Memory fails me ahh.

Third session. Forgot lol. Never mind.

Something?

My new wallpaper.

Steal it here.

VCC Camp '09!

Yeah. Just got back from my church camp. It was a blast. And, gah, my camera failed on me, maybe it doesn't like me anymore, since I haven't used it for a long loong time. I got a bunch of pictures though, but not during the camp itself. T_T

Never mind, it ain't about the pictures. Serene and Simon would have had their "final" church camp. They're both going off to study, so God bless them yea.

Camp was very enlightening spiritually. I think I'll post more up some other time.

Point of Difference

Haha... Yeah, it's the week-end of all. Good Friday => Easter, Jesus died, upon that tree, upon Calvary, and rose again. But what for. For the sins of the world... a world so ravaged by sin, it needs the Light once again.

Here's a song. It's not really related to the Resurrection nor the Crucifixion, but it's about God. And I believe it speaks of what the world needs. And I believe it comes from what the world will never take from us, Jesus our God.

Hillsong United - Point of Difference
Words & Music by Joel Houston

VERSE 1:
The tide is turning
This is redemption’s hour
In the midst of a world lost for love
You are all we have now
The lost returning
Salvation is all around
In the midst of a world broken down
You are all we have now
You are God
And this hope is ours
So Father

CHORUS:
Open the skies
Flood the earth with Your light
This is love to break a world indifferent
As we lift up our eyes
Fill our hearts with Your fire
In a world the same
We’ll be the different
The difference

VERSE 2:
Our hearts are burning
A fire that won’t burn out
In the midst of a world that’s grown cold
You are all we have now
The earth resounding
The anthem of Your renown
As we lift up our eyes
And look to Your glory

PRE CHORUS:
Call us out
Let the world see You are God
And this hope is ours
Call us out
Let the world see You are God
As we sing

BRIDGE:
Our eyes are open
Every chain now broken
We’re in this world but we are different
Let Your love become us
As we live to make You famous
We’re in this world but we are different

Call us out let the world see You are God
And one and only in this world
You are all we have now

It's all You are, it's all I want

It's all for You, I'm letting go

You'll never let me go

In the hope of Your freedom

Easter Egg-what?

Lol. Today was the combined meeting for Convent (MC) CF (Morn + Afternoon) and Anderson. Haha. Here's an outline of the planned events.

Committee Meeting - 11.30p.m. (HAHAHAH, it's a.m., but it was written as p.m. on my sis' schedule)
Can't really say much, didn't attend, obviously. This was [probably] mainly for their games session later, and was MC only.

Welcoming of Guests [smtg] - 12.00p.m.
Well. I came right before 12, left at 12 for lunch with JY.

Icebreaker - 12.30p.m.? [real time: 12.45 like that]
Well. Icebreaker was the paper on the back, write stuff on it. Lol. Dumb stuff la. Don't think I should post much up, other than SOMEBODY [me] scribbling "An-abelle!" on Jee An's back. Lol

Games - 1.00p.m.?
Haha. Games. They chucked me in the 1st group [aaah alphabetical order]. Group members ah. There wasn't much time to get their names straight, 'cause the game was really high-tempo. Recognised Chris and Alicia though. Lol. Hmm.

Goal of the game was to get 7 "ingredients" [pieces of paper], 7 "coloured" eggs [normal eggs with coloured paper stuck on them], and some "secret ingredient" [I hab no idea what this is] to make a "rainbow easter meal". Lol.

To get the ingredients, you had to:
  • Find the "stations", a.k.a. people. You have a list though, of people.
  • Identify the personality correctly, though they won't give you a straight answer. They will though if you push your answer convincingly.
  • Do a task. Most of the tasks were quite mild compared to what I've experienced before, lol.
To get the eggs, you had to literally find them wherever. You need to get 1 each of the 7 unique coloured eggs. They were coloured "according" to the rainbow.

The game was quite interesting to me, though I believe somebody sabotaged the eggs real bad. Though, I have to confess, my group "sabotaged" the eggs too, but that was clearly after we realised the game had ended. Andrew/Christine's group won. X_X. My group had finished all the tasks, but we were searching for that last egg for plenty of minutes. Never mind. Haha.

Praise & Worship - 2.15pm-2.30pm (somewhere inbetween)
Haha. P&W was.. quite fun. Though I think they should've miked up the guitars, or at least guitar. Or worked on positioning? Ah, never mind. Lol. It was quite solid barring the lack of guitar volume. Though the mikes were too sensitive like one of my church mikes, if you held it at arm's length, that would have been the suitable distance. Though I really believe God's presence was real there. So yeah.

Sharing? - 3.15pm
A team from SONG came over. They were decent, yea. Managed to get the message across. I won't really share much about my thought on this though. Though you are free to ask in person. Haha.

They finished on "My Redeemer Lives".

Ending - 4.00 like that
Hah. Ended with "Take It All". Still wondering. Why ah, song so high don drop key. My Redeemer was extremely high. Or somepeople say low. Never mind. Ah. But still, good la, ended on a -high- note. Haha.

Then! We proceeded! To! food

Food was basically pak pak pak session. Talking everywhere, lol. There wasn't enough drink though. And cups. But excess food lol. Biasa lerr. Then clean up, and balik. Haha.

Yea. Professional report writer Abel Chi ant you serbize. Kainly pay mi to make my english less poverty

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAMYLO!

Haha. My long lost friend. Or something. Smtg. Though I couldn't really catch up over the past years, here it is. =D

Veryday

Edit: Switchfoot - 4:12 is a nice song. I like. I heart.

Note: you don't need to read this. You won't understand what happened, nor will you probably ever.

Nearly breaking down. I got too close to emotional for the first time. What's worse, it happened during tuition. Thankfully, no one noticed. Thank God, I pulled through without descending into depression. Thank You, for making me resilient enough to... get through it. And yes, you probably

You are my strength

Only one person would understand this.
This post was written sometime not recently.
The writer is free.
Obviously, this wasn't REALLY posted @ 4:12 in the morning.

Accepted, Acceptance

More camp details.

Lol. I was in Eirini (a group). Members:

Me
Joon Yang
Zhi Yang
Jeffrey Ng
Jessica Tan
Wai Wei
Sue Jenn

Haha. Had a fun time pretending to discuss sketch with them all. (=

Btw, Eirini means peace. The group names were based on the fruits of the spirit (in Greek). Of course, Agape (love) was removed, as it was the obvious one. We had:

Eirini - Peace
Ypomoni - Patience
Egkratia - Self-Control
Chrestotes - Kindness?
Pisti - Joy?
Leptos - Gentleness

Hmmm. Memory faded. Never mind.

Now for the camp theme! The camp theme was "Unveiled", with the "key" verse being 2Co 3:18.

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. -NKJV
Hmm. I think posting up my notes would be a bit... long. Never mind.

Anyway. Here's a list of campers who have blogs, who I've linked up to the right. Scroll down just a bit. Do tell me if I've missed out anyone.
